Two former field boundaries of possible post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1971 onwards, at Lower Pithayne Farm. The two short linear earthworks are northwest to southeast aligned. It is unclear whether these boundaries were extant at the time of the Parish Tithe Map or not, as it appears to be largely un-surveyed here. The boundaries have however, passed out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance survey map. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project classifies this area as ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’, so may have potential earlier origins. The boundaries are partly visible as earthwork banks on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
