A possible marl pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1971 onwards, to the south of Whitehorn’s Farm. The circular earthwork measures approximately 15m in diameter and is located in proximity to other marl pits depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. It remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
