Earthwork banks of possible medieval cultivation terraces and or field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the northwest of Whitehorn’s Farm. The parallel linear and curvilinear earthworks are northeast to southwest aligned and are situated on moderate northwest facing slope. One of the earthworks is clearly depicted as a field boundary on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map and is also extant on aerial photographs of 1947. The nature of the remaining earthworks is less clear, although if they similarly represent field boundaries then they have clearly passed out of use by this time. They may alternately represent strip lynchets, forming a series of cultivation terraces. The earthworks remain partly visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2014.
