A former field boundary of probable medieval to 19th century date was visible on the south-facing slopes below Combe Wood, Combe Raleigh on aerial photographs of the 1947 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data, as a slightly curved earthwork bank 4 to 8 metres wide, flanked by narrow ditches. The relict earthwork does not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Combe Raleigh supporting the interpretation that the boundary was removed prior to 1840
