Summary

A former field boundary of possible medieval to 19th century date was visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards and digital images derived from lidar data, as an earthwork bank flanked by ditches on the south-facing slopes below Combe Wood, overlooking the banks of the River Otter to the south.

The bank does not correspond with any depicted boundary.

A former field boundary of probable medieval to 19th century date was visible on the south-facing slopes below Combe Wood, Combe Raleigh on aerial photographs of the 1947 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data, as a slightly curved earthwork bank 4 to 8 metres wide, flanked by narrow ditches. The relict earthwork does not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Combe Raleigh supporting the interpretation that the boundary was removed prior to 1840
