A small pit was visible as an earthwork on the north-east facing slopes of Crook Hill, on aerial photographs and digital images derived from lidar data. Approximately 30 metres in length, the pit is probably the remains of a former extractive pit of post-medieval to 19th century date. The pit is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map and probably therefore passed out of use prior to the 1880s.
