The earthwork does not correspond with any depicted pit or quarry.

A former pit was visible as an earthwork.

A roughly circualr pit almost 50 metres diameter was visible on digital images derived from lidar data as an earthwork on south-west facing slopes to south of Stockers farm, Luppitt Parish. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit or quarry depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map, and therefore probably passed out of use prior to the 1880s.
