A roughly circular pit up to 30 metres in diameter was visible on aerial photographs of 1947 and digital images derived from lidar data as an earthwork on the west facing slopes to south-west of Crown All Wood, Luppitt Parish. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit or quarry depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map, and is therefore evidence of a former extractive pit that probably passed out of use prior to the 1880s.
