The possible extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An earthwork pit of a possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards, to the northwest of Burcombe Farm. The sub-circular shaped earthwork measures approximately 20m in diameter and is located in close proximity to a similar such feature recorded to the southeast. The extraction pit remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1989.
