An earthwork pit of a possible post-medieval to 19th century clay pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards, to the north of Middleton Barton. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 19m in length by 16m in width and lies in close proximity to a clay pit depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, as well as other earthworks recorded here as part of this survey. The possible clay pit is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images captured in 2010.
