Summary
Two post medieval pits excavated during a programme of archaeological works along the route of a gas pipeline. The pits contained 16th-18th century pottery, clay pipe fragments, and objects of lead and iron.

Site ATK 13.02. A clay and stone spread at the south-eastern end of the sitewhich marked a possible entranceway between two post medieval ditches was subsequently cut by a pit (13.02.267), 4.75 by 2.9 metres and 1.06 metres deep which contained 16th-18th century pottery, clay pipe, several iron objects and a lead object. A similar pit close by (13.02.268) contained 20 sherds of 16th-18th century pottery, three fragments of clay pipe and seven iron objects.
