Two earthwork pits, circa 22 metres in maximum diameter, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. No features are depicted in these locations on the late-19th century OS mapping, but a ‘Gravel Pit’ is marked circa 140 metres to the east. The pit may therefore be the remains of post-medieval gravel extraction that had ceased by the end of the 19th century.
