Smart, C., 2010, Geophysical Survey at Membury Court, Membury, East Devon, 10, 11 (Report - Geophysical Survey). SDV359981.

Geophysical survey undertaken on two fields to the north of Membury Court. A number of curvilinear features were recorded within Field 2 which appear to derive from earthworks of relict field boundaries. Some can be directly related to hedge lines shown on historic mapping but others that also appear integral to this system had been removed by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A curvilinear ditch, up to 4.5 metres in width, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1996 and images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is broadly parallel to nearby curvilinear field boundaries depicted on the Tithe map and characterised as based on strip fields. The ditch is interpreted as a relict field boundary of medieval origin that fell out of use prior to the mid-19th century. In several places it has been cut by later curvilinear parallel leats (MDV115262), but the lidar evidence indicates that they have not completely truncated the ditch where they intersect with it.
