Summary
A linear earthwork ditch, visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1982 onwards, is interpreted as the probable remains of a post-medieval field boundary that fell out of use prior to the mid-19th century.

A linear ditch, circa 4.5 metres in width, was identified from on aerial photographs taken from 1982 onwards and is clearly visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Its straight alignment suggests that it probably post-dates the surrounding historic field pattern which has been characterised as originating from medieval strip fields. The ditch is interpreted as a relict field boundary of post-medieval origin that fell out of use prior to the mid-19th century.
