An extraction pit of possible post-medieval to 19th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1950 and digital images derived from lidar-data captured in 2008, within Honeyhill Plantation. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 84m in length by 31m in width and is situated in close proximity to a gravel pit, approximately 30m to the south, depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The extraction pit is obscured by tree cover after 1950, although is clearly visible on DTM lidar images.
