Earthwork banks of potential medieval to post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1971 onwards, at Oakleigh. The earthwork banks, up to 25m in width, are curvilinear in shape, closely respect one another and are sited on moderate southeast facing slope. One of the earthwork banks, which is more cross-contour in its alignment, appears to represent a former field boundary first depicted here on the Parish Tithe Map. The function of the other earthworks is less certain, although may represent cultivation terraces. The earthworks remain clearly visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2008.
