An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1971 onwards, to the east of Gollick Park. An orchards is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1947 show that the orchard is covered with fruit trees, although by 1971, these have been completely cleared, exposing a series of parallel northwest to southeast aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established. The earthworks occupy an area of approximately 0.17 hectares of fairly level land positioned on the ridge of a spur. They remain visible on Lidar-derived images captured in 2008.
