Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 3.5 metres in width, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date. This area is depicted as orchard on the Tithe map and early-20th century OS map, but trees were still extant in this location in 1947, indicating that it fell out of use as an orchard in the second half of the 20th century.
