An earthwork ditch of a possible or 19th century water channel is visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Bodmiscombe. The linear northwest to southeast aligned earthwork is situated on and concordant to gentle northeast facing slope. The nature of the earthwork is slightly uncertain, although likely either represents a medieval to post-medieval field boundary, which appears to have passed out of use by the time of the Parish Tithe Map, or represents a post-medieval to 19th century water channel, perhaps the head-main of a catch meadow. The earthwork ditch remains visible on digital images taken in 2002.
