Cropmarks which have formed over a levelled bank of a possible medieval field boundary are visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2014, to the southwest of Collinshayne House, Hemyock. The linear boundary is northnortheast to southsouthwest aligned and generally respects the historic field boundaries depicted here on the Parish Tithe map, although the boundary appears to have passed out of use by this time. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project lists this area as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’. The cropmarks of this possible relict field boundary were not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
