An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Westlands Farm, Hemyock. The earthwork is semi-circular in shape, measures approximately 70m in length by 25m in width and abuts a road along its northeast edge. The earthwork, which is located in an area where numerous similar such features have been recorded as part of this survey, remains visible on digital images captured in 2002.
