An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the east of Northcott Pitt, Uffculme. The earthwork is semi-circular in shape, measures approximately 40m in length by 29m in width and is located in an area where numerous similar such features have been recorded as part of this survey, as well as several marl pits and a gravel pit depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The earthwork remains visible on digital images taken in 2002.
