An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, on Owleycombe Common, Hemyock. The extraction pit is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 48m in length by 39m in width. It lies in close proximity to a larger extraction pit approximately 100m to the northeast (MDV115628) and remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1989.
