Land parcel 1207 is listed as ‘Coppice’, whilst adjacent land parcel 1206 as ‘Pit Close’.

Extraction pits of likely post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Sidwell’s Farm, Hemyock. The extraction pits are broadly triangular in shape and are located within the corners of two adjacent land parcels. The southern of the two extraction pits is recorded as land parcel 1207 on the Parish Tithe Map and listed as ‘Coppice’ on the accompanying Tithe Apportionment, whilst adjacent plot 1206 is recorded as ‘Pit Close’. The extraction pits remain visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014.
