An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs and digital images of 1989 onwards, at Bubhayne, Hemyock.
The earthwork is oval in shape and measures approximately 55m in length by 18m in width. It is located within and along the eastern edge of an orchard depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, the orchard likely being established within the pit following its dis-use. It remains visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2014.
