An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards, at Holcombe. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 30m in length by 21m in width. It remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images taken in 2006.
