Ordnance Survey, 2000, OS/00973, OS/00973 V 246-247 19-MAR-2000 (Aerial Photograph). SDV359480.

Turner, S.C., 2005 - 2006, Devon Historic Landscape Characterisation Mapping (Cartographic). SDV349122.

This area was probably first enclosed with hedge-banks during the later middle ages. The curving form of the hedge-banks suggests that earlier it may have been farmed as open strip-fields.

Next Perspectives, 2010, Aerial Photography for Great Britain, Next Perspectives APGB Imagery ST2000 04-MAY-2010 (Aerial Photograph). SDV359490.

The curvilinear earthwork ditch remained visible but the possible bank could not be seen.

Bluesky International, 2016, LiDAR DTM data (0.5m resolution) Blackdown Hills and East Devon AONBs: 3 transects, LIDAR ST2000 Bluesky International DTM 24 &30-APR-2016 (Cartographic). SDV359714.

The curvilinear earthwork ditch remained visible but the possible bank could not be seen.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A slight curvilinear earthwork bank was visible on aerial photographs and digital images derived from lidar data, on the gentle north-east facing slopes north of Gibbon’s farm, Wilmington, Widworthy parish. The boundary is not depicted on the Tithe Map for Widworthy and was therefore probably removed prior to the 1840s. It did fall within the surrounding field pattern, one that has been characterised as being probably based on medieval strip fields, and the earthwork is interpreted as probably the remains of a former field boundary, probably of medieval origin.
