Several narrow curvilinear earthwork ditches are visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. They seem to be taken off either side of a natural watercourse at regular intervals and run broadly along the contour, dropping less than 5 metres over their 100 metre lengths. They are interpreted as field gutters of a catchmeadow system of post-medieval or 19th century date, and are likely to have once extended further to the north and south. A single earthwork ditch circa 120 metres to the west may also be part of the system.
