Parallel linear banks, circa 3 metres in width, are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. They are broadly cross-contour in orientation and interpreted as tree planting banks that were common in orchards of post-medieval or 19th century date. The area is depicted as orchard on the historic maps and a few trees seem to have survived up to 2014.
