Four irregular earthwork pits, between circa 25 and 50 metres in length, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. They are located in land that appears marginal on the late-19th century mapping, where it is depicted as scrub or scrubby woodland. They are interpreted as a group of post-medieval extraction pits that had gone out of use and the ground scrubbed up before the late-19th century.
