An earthwork pit, 50 by 95 metres, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is not depicted on any of the available historic mapping but extends either side of a former field boundary that is depicted on the first edition OS map. The boundary does not appear to respect the pit and in parts it appears to overlie it, suggesting that the pit is later. It is interpreted as an extractive pit that had become disused by the late-19th century. It could be associated with the numerous other extractive pits in the vicinity (e.g. MDV47308, MDV115729 etc).
