Possible tree-planting banks of a former post-medieval to 19th century orchard are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1989 and digital images of between 1998-2014, at Clement’s Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1947 show the orchard to be largely covered with fruit trees, although by 1989 these have been completely cleared, leaving a series of linear north to south aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These earthworks occupy an area of approximately 0.23 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope, within a single plot depicted on the First Edition OS map.
