An extraction pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the north of Culm Davy House. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 60m in length by 47m in width and abuts a road along its eastern edge. The site of the extraction pit is located in an area where numerous quarries are depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, as well as a number of similar such earthworks recorded as part of this survey. The extraction pit remains visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2014.
