Former field boundaries of potential medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Pen Cross. The boundaries comprise two linear and tapered earthworks which are northeast to southwest aligned, with a third more sinuous northwest to southeast aligned earthwork at their southwest extent. The earthworks are largely depicted as field boundaries on the Parish Tithe map, with the exception of a short section of this more sinuous earthwork which had evidently passed out of use by this time. The former field boundaries enclose the site of former farmstead MDV47502 and may represent contemporary features. The field boundaries are clearly visible as earthworks in 1971, although by 1989 they appear to have been levelled, although do remain visible as possible cropmark banks.
