An earthwork ditch of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards, to the east of Byes Farm. The sinuous earthwork stretches from Byes Farm, eastwards towards an un-named road, at an approximate length of 170m. The function of the earthwork ditch is largely unclear, but does not appear to be for drainage. It more likely represents a possible leat or catch meadow gutter, diverting the flow of water from a stream located approximately 70m to the east. The water channel remains partly visible as a possible earthwork ditch on digital infra-red images of 2014.
