An extraction pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards, to the west of Gladhayes Farm. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 71m in length by 26m in width and is located within the site of a former orchard depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, the orchard likely being established here following the dis-use of the pit. The extraction pit remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014.
