The area is depicted as rough ground.

An earthwork pit is visible.

An earthwork pit cut into the hillside and measuring circa 27 metres across, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947, but is obscured by vegetation on the later available aerial photographs. It is likely to be a post-medieval or early modern extraction pit, although it is not clear in this instance what material was being extracted. It is not depicted on the available historic mapping, when the area is depicted as rough ground, and may have been long-disused by the late-19th century.
