Possible extraction pits of between post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1989 and digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southeast of Bodham’s Farm. The western of the three pits is irregular in shape, measures approximately 25m in length by 8m in width and abuts a trackway along its eastern edge. Those to the east of the trackway are also irregular in shape and measure approximately 27m in length by 14m in width and approximately 18m in length by 10m in width. These eastern two earthworks appear to have been cut into the side of a natural scarp.
