Vis=29/9/1992 (simpson and noble) this feature is quite pronounced and survives as two parallel steps into the hillslope (see sketch in archive). It runs roughly parallel to the turnpike road to the south (a30). A gateway at the e end of the former road leads to an old track (now blocked) running n from the a30 (it may have once continued south of the a30). Therefore these former roads may represent the pre-turnpike road network
