A possible marl pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the west of Leigh Court Farm. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 20m in length by 13m in width. Marl pits are depicted in close proximity here on historic mapping, suggesting this earthwork was also likely utilised for such. The possible marl pit remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
