The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the southwest of Haydon Farm. The earthwork is irregular in shape and measures approximately 88m in length by 60m in width. The extraction pit is largely obscured by tree cover on more recent aerial photographs and digital images, although is clearly visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
