An extraction pit of uncertain date is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Haydon Farm. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 33m in length by 26m in width. The earthwork is located in close proximity to a concentration of possible Roman to medieval open cast mines (MDV115817), so may conceivably represent part of an associated, outlying feature. It may also, however, represent the remains of small-scale post-medieval to 19th century extraction, a number of similar such features having been recorded within the area as part of this survey. The earthwork was not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
