The extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

An extraction pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1989 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Highland Farm. The earthwork is oval in shape, measures approximately 106m in length by 63m in width and abuts a road along its northern edge. It is unclear how, or if this features relates to a cultivation terrace recorded here as MDV47508.
