Possible earthwork banks of post-medieval to 19th century date are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of north of Shuttleton Farm. The earthworks, which are northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.29 hectares of southeast facing slope, may represent the remains of 18th-19th agricultural improvement or represent the site of a former orchard, the banks providing improved drainage and increased soil depth for the fruit trees. Orchards are depicted in close proximity here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, so the latter interpretation may be the more likely. A former field boundary visible as an earthwork bank defines the northern edge of these earthworks.
