Sand pits are depicted to the north and south on this map.

The possible sand pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

A possible sand pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Castlehill Farm. The earthwork is oval in shape, measures approximately 18m in length by 12m in width and is situated in close proximity to two sand pits to the north and south depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The earthwork was not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
