Possible extraction pits of between post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1989 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the west of Musgrove Farm. Faint traces of the eastern of the three extraction pits are also partly visible as vegetation marks on aerial photographs of 1947. The three earthworks are sub-oval in shape and measure between 23m to 34m in length and by 15m to 30m in width and are situated on steep southeast facing slope.
