Possible remnants of tree-planting banks of a former post-medieval to 19th century orchard are visible as two linear earthwork banks on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Westlands Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The two partial earthworks are northeast to southwest aligned and are situated on east facing slope. Given their poor definition, some caution should be exercised and it is possible they are of modern date. The earthworks were not visible on aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
