An extraction pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1989 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Collinshayne Copse. The semi-circular shaped earthwork measures approximately 38m by 38m and abuts, and so likely post-date, a historic field boundary along its eastern edge and a now removed field boundary along its northern edge. The extent of the earthwork is also defined as a land parcel on the Parish Tithe map of approximately 1838-48, so was likely in existence before this time.
