Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Earthwork bank and ditched features of possible medieval to post-medieval field boundaries are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the south of Leigh Hill Farm. The earthworks comprise a slight and broad L-shaped earthwork bank, up to 13m in width, which is flanked along its southeast edge by an outer earthwork ditch. The earthworks are located on gentle northeast facing slope and broadly correspond to field boundaries depicted here on the Parish Tithe Map. It is unclear, however, if these earthworks represent part of these field boundaries, the spatial discrepancies being attributable to the inaccuracies of the Tithe Map, or if they represent an entirely different feature, such as an earlier phase of land division here. The earthworks are not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
