The extent of the earthwork is defined as a copse on this map.

An extraction pit of between post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the northwest of Bodmiscombe. The sub-circular shaped earthwork measures approximately 42m in diameter. The extent of the earthwork is defined as a copse on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, with the copse likely being established within the pit following it’s abandonment. The earthwork remains visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016.
