Summary

A number of earthwork extraction pits and cuttings of between medieval to 19th century date are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Rodleigh Farm. They remain clearly visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, with the western-most earthwork additionally being depicted as a pond on the 2016 Ordnance Survey MasterMap.

A number of earthwork extraction pits and cuttings of between medieval to 19th century date are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, to the north of Rodleigh Farm. The four earthworks are irregular in shape and occupy an area of approximately 1 hectare of gentle northwest facing slope. Two of the earthworks appear visible as narrow cuttings, with the remaining earthworks visible as irregular shaped pits. The earthworks are located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded as part of this survey. They remain clearly visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, with the western-most earthwork additionally being depicted as a pond on the 2016 Ordnance Survey MasterMap.
